Procurement Agent

My client, an innovative manufacturer in the mining industry, is looking for a Procurement Agent to join their collaborative, entrepreneurial, dynamic team. The Procurement Agent will be responsible for facilitating the optimum functionality of procurement activities for the company. The ideal candidate for this role will be well versed in global supply chain operations and will have solid experience supporting capital projects and providing aftermarket service.

What the Procurement Agent does:

Coordinates with the Project Team and Suppliers to facilitate accurate purchasing and on-schedule deliveries; requests quotes and negotiates with suppliers as necessary

Liaises with the Sales and Supply Chain teams to obtain Requests for Proposals (RFP’s) & Requests for Quotes (RFQ)

Maintains responsibility for project documentation and materials management; oversees open purchase orders, expediting, tracking and returns

Communicates with vendors/suppliers to ensure that project and delivery targets set by the Engineering and Project Management team are being met

Evaluates and maintains inventory levels and warehousing of critical supply-chain components

Makes project adjustments as needed from a budgetary standpoint

Develops and maintains organizational systems for the entire procurement process; generates improved workflow systems as needed

Provides additional logistics support and documentation for the Engineering team and internal stakeholders collaborating on the project

What the successful candidate will bring:

5 years of progressive Procurement experience in natural resources or industrial manufacturing

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain and/or Engineering; Supply Chain certification an asset

Process improvement mindset and a solid understanding of business workflow processes and standard operating procedures

Working knowledge of international logistics and Incoterms

Entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a small multicultural team

Advanced computers skills including Excel, ERP-systems, project management & supply-chain software

Excellent communication skills; fluency in Spanish, Mandarin, and/or Portuguese an asset

In return, what you can expect:

$65,000 – $70,000 annual salary
