VanWest College is looking for a Full-time Student Recruitment & Services Assistant
Scope of the Work:
The Student Recruitment & Services Assistant will be immersed in
A full cycle process of successful student enrollments;
Students counseling;
Receive and checking required documents from partner agencies and international students directly;
Process ESL and Vocational College enrolments;
Provide enrolments changes, accommodation arrangements, airport services and health insurance;
Counsel current students to support and improve their experiences while studying with us.
Qualification for this job:
Excellent communication skills in English, Portuguese and Spanish, verbal and written.
Ability to communicate effectively with non-native English speakers with varying degrees of English proficiency.
Knowledge of Canadian Education System
Ability to achieve a keyboarding speed of 40 wpm.
Excellent ability to pay attention to detail and enter data accurately.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to set priorities when encountering conflicting demands.
Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service, respond to inquiries and provide information, assistance, and related services to the general public, faculty, staff, and students.
Ability to work well under pressure, dealing with a constant flow of inquiries, requiring endurance and stamina and the need to stay focused over prolonged periods of time.
Ability to work with challenging or difficult situations.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Ability to multitask and work with frequent interruptions, while adhering to strict deadlines.
Ability to investigate and listen to solve problems and provide solutions.
Ability to maintain the confidentiality of records and information.
Intermediate level in the use of standard computer applications including word processing (Word), spreadsheets (Excel), presentation (PowerPoint), and email.
Working condition:
Full-time offer with 3 months probationary period (35 hours a week).
Standard work schedule Monday to Friday (Flexibility to work in a different shift)
